Measurements

What changed

Four things the collection measures, read as change: how each site's page count moved between sweeps, which sites report fresh content, which sites were added, and how many items the collection collected from their feeds each week. Every line is derived from stored measurements; each section says how.

Page counts, sweep to sweep

How this is measured: URLs counted in each site's own sitemap by the collection's weekly sweep, compared with that site's previous reading. A site too large to re-walk keeps its last count and never appears here. A reading far outside a site's previous count is recorded but not adopted until it is checked, and that site is not compared. A site whose sweep failed, or that is skipped before launch, has no new reading either.

Latest sweep 18 Oct 2026: 96 public sites measured; against each site's previous reading, 32 grew, 7 shrank, 55 unchanged. 2 sites' newest reading was flagged suspect by the sweep and not adopted; they are not compared.

Content dated in the last 7 days

How this is measured: each site's newest content date, read from the site's own feed or sitemap by the nightly harvest. It is the date the site reports, not when the collection last edited its entry.

47 public sites report a content date within the last 7 days.

The freshest content, as site cards, is on Recently updated.

Sites added in the last 90 days

How this is measured: the date each site's entry was created in the collection's directory.

44 public sites added in the last 90 days.

Items collected from the sites' feeds, by week

How this is measured: items collected from the sites' own feeds, grouped by the publication date each feed states. Weeks start on Monday (UTC); the current week is partial. A week showing 0 is a week in which nothing was counted.
